Netgear debuts ITV-2000 for BitTorrent Fans at CES

NetGear showcased a set-top box that can stream both Internet video and video. The difference between them and the competition - the content can be downloaded from BitTorrent.
Another feature that puts it ahead of competitors is the included engine called 'Vtap' that combs through the associated Flash video sites and CinemaNow rentals.

Sony Ericsson users ready to 'PlayNow'

Sony Ericsson users will be able to download over 23,000 DRM-free songs, 30 movie titles, four TV series and 25 games at launch of the new PlayNow kiosks scheduled to be available at around 80 stores in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
Movies will be available on the same day as the DVDs would be released. Some estimated costs are

Blockbuster playing catchup with NetFlix

Starting in the second quarter of this year Blockbuster is going to start offering thousands of movies and other titles to a number of devices through their partnership with Sonic Solutions (which bought CinemaNow). This defensive move is purely to catchup with NetFlix which offer its 'Watch Instantly on Your TV' catalog.
